Male violence against women is not a problem that only affects women who are victims of it. It is rather a question that concerns mainly men. In recent years, there has been a significant turning point in policies aimed at combating male violence against women, which sees the involvement of the perpetrator of the violence in contrast to it, both in a perspective of prevention and in terms of treatment. This change of perspective originates from the growing interest in men and their lives that characterized the second half of the last century, with a proliferation of literature concerning men's emotions, their relationships with partners, men's health, their sexuality and the construction of masculinity together with the so-called "crisis of male identity". The deepening of these questions shows that there are social models connected to gender violence. To combat male violence against women, it is therefore necessary to focus attention on the social models of constructing masculinity and on the relationship between masculinity and violence and masculinity and power.
