Abstract

Systemic-relational psychotherapy, which considers human suffering related to interpersonal relationships, requires deep theoretical and clinical knowledge and established professional skills from therapists.

In training processes, play emerges as a powerful learning tool, capable of promoting knowledge, integration of complex concepts, reflection, and personal and group growth.

This article explores the role of play in systemic-relational psychotherapy training, starting with the approach of Carl Whitaker, a pioneer in the use of play and creativity in family therapy.

In particular, a game, developed at the ECOPSYS Family Therapy Training School in Naples and tested with some groups of trainees, entitled ©ABC of Relationships, will be presented.

This game is useful for summarizing the theoretical-clinical concepts of the model and encouraging reflection on group dynamics.
